Seeds - 7 Pot Jonah Yellow

The 7 Pot Jonah Yellow is a rare super-hot Capsicum chinense variety originating from Trinidad and Tobago. It produces heavily wrinkled, golf ball-sized pods that ripen to a bright yellow colour and are known for their intense fruity flavour with strong sweet citrus notes.

This variety delivers an extreme heat level with a deep, lingering burn, typically ranging between 850,000 and 1,000,000+ Scoville Heat Units. Plants are vigorous and highly productive, commonly reaching around 1.2 metres tall and approximately 1 metre wide under favourable growing conditions.

The 7 Pot Jonah Yellow performs best in full sun with rich, well-draining soil and benefits from staking or plant support due to heavy pod production. Average harvest time is approximately 100 days from transplanting.

Due to its combination of intense heat and strong fruity flavour, it is widely used for fermented hot sauces, chilli powders, marinades, and other superhot applications. The name “7 Pot” comes from the Trinidadian saying that a single pod contains enough heat to flavour seven pots of stew.
