The 7 Pot Yellow is a classic super-hot Capsicum chinense variety originating from Trinidad and Tobago. It produces heavily wrinkled pods that ripen from green to a vibrant yellow colour and is known for its intense lingering heat combined with a sweet, tropical, citrus-forward flavour profile.

Pods typically range from 800,000 to 1,500,000 Scoville Heat Units and are medium to large in size with thick walls and rough textured skin. The flavour is notably fruity, slightly floral, and citrus-like before the powerful heat rapidly develops. The name “7 Pot” comes from the Trinidadian saying that one pepper contains enough heat to flavour seven pots of stew.

Due to its extreme heat and strong fruity flavour profile, the 7 Pot Yellow is highly sought after for homemade hot sauces, fermented sauces, chilli powders, infused oils, and other superhot applications. Best suited to experienced chilli growers and chilli enthusiasts.
