The Bhut Jolokia Chocolate, also known as the Chocolate Ghost Pepper, is a dark-coloured super-hot Capsicum chinense variety derived from the traditional Bhut Jolokia lineage originating from Northeast India. It produces elongated heavily wrinkled pods that ripen from green to a rich chocolate-brown colour.

This variety retains the classic delayed-burning heat of the Ghost Pepper, with heat levels commonly ranging from 800,000 to over 1,000,000 Scoville Heat Units. The flavour profile is deeper and richer than the standard red Bhut Jolokia, combining earthy, smoky, slightly sweet, and fruity notes with an intense long-lasting burn.

The Bhut Jolokia Chocolate is highly valued for hot sauces, BBQ sauces, powders, curries, marinades, smoked chilli products, and other superhot applications where both extreme heat and depth of flavour are desired.
