The Carolina Reaper is a world-famous ultra-hot Capsicum chinense variety known for its brutal heat, heavily wrinkled pods, and distinctive scorpion-like stinger tail. Pods ripen from green to bright red and are widely recognised as one of the hottest chillies ever developed.

Heat levels commonly range from 1,500,000 to over 2,200,000 Scoville Heat Units, delivering an intense lingering burn that builds rapidly and persists for an extended time. Beneath the extreme heat, the Carolina Reaper has a surprisingly sweet, fruity, and slightly floral flavour profile.

Its aggressive heat and rich flavour make it highly sought after for extreme hot sauces, powders, chilli mash, salsas, and superhot food products. The pods are heavily textured with twisted, bumpy skin and pronounced tails that have become iconic within the chilli world.
