The White Lantern Habanero, also known as Peruvian White or White Lightning, is a rare Capsicum chinense variety recognised for its creamy ivory-white pods and intense condensed heat. Despite its pale appearance, this variety delivers a powerful burn that rivals or exceeds many standard Habanero types.

Pods ripen from green through pale yellow to a soft creamy white colour and develop a small wrinkled lantern or jellybean-like shape. Heat levels commonly range between 100,000 and 350,000 Scoville Heat Units, producing a sharp fast-building burn balanced by sweet fruity, citrusy, and slightly smoky undertones.

Due to their thin flesh and bright colouring, White Lantern Habaneros are highly valued for white hot sauces, tropical salsas, powders, flakes, and chilli products where strong heat is desired without altering the colour of the final dish.
