The Hurtberry x Dorset Naga is an exotic ultra-hot Capsicum chinense hybrid combining the brutal heat and heavily textured appearance of the Hurtberry with the legendary fast-building burn of the Dorset Naga. It is considered a relatively unstable cross, meaning pod shape, texture, and heat levels can vary between plants.

Pods are typically heavily wrinkled, blistered, and aggressively textured, ripening through deep red tones with phenotypes ranging from blocky Reaper-like forms to elongated Naga-style shapes. Heat levels commonly exceed 1,000,000 Scoville Heat Units, delivering an intense lingering burn that can rival some of the world’s hottest chillies.

The flavour profile is fruity, floral, tangy, and aromatic with sweet undertones beneath the extreme heat. Growers often report extremely high placenta content inside the pods, indicating exceptionally high capsaicin levels.

Due to its brutal heat and rich flavour, the Hurtberry x Dorset Naga is highly valued for premium hot sauces, powders, mash, flakes, and other ultra-hot chilli products.

Hybrid Capsicum chinense cross between Hurtberry and Dorset Naga genetics. The Hurtberry was originally developed by UK grower Graham Lee Warburton from Carolina Reaper, Jigsaw, and Moruga UV genetics. The Dorset Naga was developed in the United Kingdom by Joy and Michael Michaud of Sea Spring Seeds through selective breeding of Bangladeshi Naga Morich lines.
