The Jalapeño is one of the world’s most widely recognised chilli peppers and a staple Capsicum annuum variety in Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine. It produces smooth thick-walled pods that ripen from green to bright red and is known for its balanced heat, crisp texture, and fresh flavour.

Heat levels typically range between 2,500 and 8,000 Scoville Heat Units, delivering a mild to medium heat suitable for a wide range of culinary uses. The flavour profile is fresh, grassy, slightly sweet, and mildly earthy with a clean approachable burn.

Jalapeños are highly versatile and commonly used fresh, pickled, smoked, stuffed, grilled, or sliced into salsas, burgers, nachos, sauces, and Mexican dishes. When smoked and dried, ripe red Jalapeños become Chipotle peppers.
