Seeds - Carolina Reaper Purple

The Purple Reaper is a striking ultra-hot Capsicum chinense variety closely related to the classic Carolina Reaper. It produces heavily wrinkled pods with twisted shapes and aggressive stinger tails that develop deep purple pigmentation before ripening through darker shades to red or brown.

This variety delivers extreme heat levels averaging around 1,600,000 Scoville Heat Units while offering a sweeter and fruitier flavour profile than many standard Reaper types. The flavour is often described as berry-like, fruity, and slightly earthy with less floral character before the intense lingering burn rapidly develops.

One of the Purple Reaper’s most distinctive traits is its dark purple colouring, which can extend through the pods, stems, and foliage due to high anthocyanin pigmentation, especially under strong sunlight exposure. Pod colour intensity and shape may vary slightly between plants.

Due to its brutal heat and unique appearance, the Purple Reaper is highly sought after for extreme hot sauces, powders, fresh superhot use, and collectors of rare chilli varieties.
