Seeds - Star Scream

Starscream, is a brutal peach-coloured Capsicum chinense superhot hybrid originally bred by American grower James Mallon from a cross between Jay’s Red Ghost Scorpion and Yellow Carolina Reaper genetics. It is widely regarded as one of the hardest-hitting and most productive peach superhot varieties available.

Pods are heavily blistered, twisted, and aggressively wrinkled, frequently developing sharp elongated stinger-like points typical of Scorpion and Reaper lineage. They ripen from light lime-green to a striking creamy peach-pink colour and commonly range between 1,000,000 and 1,500,000 Scoville Heat Units.

The burn is immediate, savage, and long-lasting, rapidly attacking the tongue and throat with an intense lingering sting. Despite the brutal heat, the flavour profile is surprisingly clean, sweet, fruity, lightly floral, and tropical with very little bitterness compared to many extreme superhots.

As a relatively modern hybrid, some phenotypic variation in pod shape and colouring can still occur between plants, although the line has become increasingly stable through continued selective breeding.

Due to its extreme heat, unique colouring, and striking appearance, the Starscream is highly sought after for premium hot sauces, powders, mash, flakes, and collectors interested in rare peach superhot genetics.
