The TMLH x Ninfadora is a rare and visually striking hybrid chilli cross combining Capsicum annuum and Capsicum chinense genetics. Originally developed by breeders such as Agus Widagdo, this ornamental hybrid is highly prized for its dramatic variegated foliage, unusual pod shapes, and unique colour transitions.

The cross combines Thunder Mountain Longhorn (TMLH) — a famous Chinese annuum known for producing extremely long twisted pods — with Ninfadora, a rare Italian chinense variety celebrated for its stable green-and-white variegated foliage. The result is a compact branching plant displaying marbled leaves with cream, green, and purple tones often enhanced by anthocyanin pigmentation.

Pods commonly develop slender twisted mini-longhorn shapes rather than the massive length of a full TMLH, typically ripening through pale lime, mustard, or purple-blushed stages into warm red or mustard tones depending on the phenotype and generation.

Heat levels generally range between 15,000 and 50,000 Scoville Heat Units, producing a manageable medium heat balanced by a sweeter, fruitier flavour profile than many ornamental chillies.

Because of its striking appearance and breeding potential, the TMLH x Ninfadora has become a popular foundation for modern ornamental and variegated chilli breeding projects.
